A projector industry leader, Digital Projection International (DPI) manufactures and distributes an extensive line of ultra high-performance 3-chip and single-chip DLP® projection systems. Digital Projection International’s groundbreaking projection research and development has earned the company many awards, including two Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. DPI remains the first and only projector manufacturer to win the coveted award. In 2008 alone, Digital Projection International’s powerful and efficient TITAN chassis received major industry awards in the Commercial Rental & Staging, Consumer Electronics and Worship Facilities markets. In 2009, Digital Projection's TITAN 3D was the only projector recognized for a CEDIA 2009 Manufacturers' Excellence award for Best New Product.
Originally formed in 1987 as a division of the Rank Organization, DPI’s origins stem from two directives: identifying the projection technology of the future, and initiating groundbreaking development of precision, high-performance, large-screen displays which would be based on this core technology. After years of international discovery, in 1989 DPI entered an exclusive development partnership with Texas Instruments to evolve the Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) and surrounding technologies in order to create the first all-digital projector. Only 3 years later, the company commenced closed-door demonstrations of the first 3-chip DLP projection systems. Then, in 1995, the first public demonstrations of the revolutionary projectors were held to broad technical acclaim. From the very dawn of the company, Digital Projection’s legacy as the industry’s leader in display innovation has been without equal.
